Learning to eat with a spoon
I probably should have done this sooner, but tonight at dinner we decided we should probably start introducing silverware to Stevie. Here is his first photos of the first time ever using a spoon! I think he did pretty well for being 14 months!

Pool time in the backyard!
We didn't get too much further in the dresser, but the frame is done and Walt is going to finish the rest of it for me since we had to head back home. (Honestly, he did most of the work!) I can't wait to see the final results when it is done, I will post the dresser and nightstands once they are finished.
Stevie playing in Zoe's kennel!
Our first pool time in the backyard. Grandma Barb bought Stevie this blow up pool and we had a blast in it this afternoon. It was HOT out today, so we didn't stay out too long. Stevie enjoyed the water and had fun playing with his toys. Our backyard is a mess since the boys just got done installing our new roof, we have a few more things to finish on it and then I will post pictures of before, during, and after. They did a great job and worked hard, Stephen is going to finish the rest.

Park/Dresser
Stevie and I went to the park for a short walk and to swing. He had a blast! Walt mainly worked down in the shop and I was unable to get down there, which was a bummer since I enjoy helping. At least its getting done and it will be done right without me making mistakes.
This is the machine that makes the mortise and tenon so the fame of the dresser can all connect together
Here is the mortise and the tenon will be on the other part connecting inside this
The front frame of the dresser, as you can see it will have 6 drawers.

Bike Races/ Starting our Bedroom Dresser
Well, we went to the Bike Races and ate some yummy food. I can't believe how fast they go, about 40mph! It was cool to see, Stevie enjoyed walking around and looking at everything. He ate a corndog and eventually fell asleep in the stroller.
The ride to the races
A new toy!
Our starting point for the dresser, this wood needs everything done to it, you can buy it already sanded, cut to thickness, and squared, but it will cost you 4 times as much!
Walt using the Wood Planer machine
His amazing shop!!!
Me, using the yellow machine below, this machine helps you work the wood down to the thickness that you want and its very loud! We didn't get too far today, but we got a start. We mainly got the 4 end posts for the dresser ready, they need a few more things done and the face frames ready. When I came last year to do the night stands, I didn't realize what kind of work you had to do to the wood to make it look so good. It is a BIG process, but it makes you appreciate ALL the work you have done when its finished! More photos as we keep working this week.

Our Road Trip to Bettendorf, Iowa
Stevie and I drove to Bettendorf, Iowa today to visit Grandma Barb and Walt. We are going to stay a week and visit with them. I was a little nervous about the long drive with Stevie, but he did pretty good. I went during nap time and we had a few rough spots, but better than I thought. Can't wait for the fun this week. Here are some photos of him along the way.
Stevie decided he was going to read a book at the beginning of the ride...
Then he thought a nap was a better idea.
We took a stop for a snack and Mom set up the DVD player. (He has some of his snack on his face, :)
Stevie watching "Toy Story 3"
Finally we made it! Here he is all smiles with Grandma Barb
Showing his belly button.
